We are delighted to announce that Johnson Fellows has been shortlisted in the Community Benefit category at this year’s RICS West Midlands awards.
The Community Benefit award relates to the redevelopment of Donnington Medical Practice in Telford.
Johnson Fellows oversaw the build of the new £3 million facility in Wrekin Drive, which was completed in April 2014 following two phases of building work.
Instead of having to use a cramped single-storey 1960s building that was unfit for purpose, the 13,000 registered patients now have access to a modern, bright and airy facility that boasts large consulting rooms for the practice’s eight GPs, CCG treatment rooms, a minor operations suite and a pharmacy. The flexible layout means that changes in medical procedures can be accommodated.
Enhancing the entrance foyer is a mosaic depicting local history, made by members of the Patient Participation Group. The new site also benefits from a pedestrian access to Queens Road Consulting Rooms, which is also operated by Donnington Medical Practice, plus about 90 car parking spaces between both sites.
The winner will be announced on 21st May at Birmingham Town Hall. We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed for a win on the night!
