World-renowned London auction house Christie’s is seeing the value of improving its communications after working with Birmingham-based chartered surveyors, Johnson Fellows.
Working alongside IT infrastructure specialists, NextiraOne, Johnson Fellows has redesigned and significantly upgraded two communications rooms for Christie’s. The remodelled rooms aim to improve communication with the auction house’s global offices.
The installations were complex, including new IT cabinets and servers, upgrading the telephone exchange, air conditioning, gas suppression and laying miles of new data cabling.
The central London location made work difficult, due to local noise reduction by-laws, strict planning guidance and underground position of the rooms. However, contractors worked extended hours, ensuring that the client’s core business wasn’t interrupted. Consequently, the work was completed ahead of schedule, before the start of the London games.
